Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, income, or any other characteristic with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
Fighting for environmental justice means fighting for racial justice, and we need to be better at it.
At the Sierra Club, we are diligently working to explore the integration of racial justice and environmental concerns. Our program seeks to provide an effective framework for addressing the damage, risk, and discrimination facing so many communities today.
